Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
The short version
- You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your name or email to use the tools.
- The entries you type into a wheel are processed in your browser. They are not sent to WheelQuirk.
- Saved wheels, spin history and settings are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. You can delete them at any time.
- We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used in general. It never receives what you type into a wheel. See “Analytics” below.
- We don’t currently show ads.
Who we are
This policy covers WheelQuirk (wheelquirk.com). For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@wheelquirk.com.
Information stored on your device
WheelQuirk uses your browser’s local storage to remember:
- your current wheel on each tool page (entries, title and settings);
- wheels you choose to save, and their names;
- your spin history, if “Keep spin history in this browser” is turned on;
- preferences such as sound and light or dark theme.
This information stays in your browser. It isn’t sent to us, and it isn’t shared between your devices. To delete it, use Delete all WheelQuirk data from this browser in the Save tab of any wheel, or clear site data in your browser settings. Local storage is not a cookie and isn’t used for tracking.
Share links
When you copy a share link, the wheel’s entries and settings are encoded into the link, after the “#” symbol. Browsers don’t send that part of a link to web servers, so the contents of a share link don’t reach our servers when it is opened. Anyone you give the link to can see everything on the wheel, and the link may be stored in browser histories or in the apps you paste it into. Don’t put sensitive personal information on a wheel you share.
Information our hosting provider records
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and device type. These server logs are used to keep the site secure and running, for example to detect abuse and fix errors. WheelQuirk is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps these logs for a limited time under its own policies. We don’t use them to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
WheelQuirk itself doesn’t set cookies to make the tools work. The third-party services described below may set cookies, subject to your consent where required.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in general, for example which tools are popular and whether pages load correctly. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type. We also record a small number of events, such as “wheel spun”, along with the tool name and the number of entries. We never send the text of your entries, wheel titles or share links to analytics.
If you visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, where analytics cookies need your consent, we run Google Analytics with analytics cookies switched off (Google Consent Mode). In that mode Google receives limited, cookieless signals that can’t be used to recognize you on later visits. If we add a consent option, we will only turn analytics cookies on after you agree.
We don’t use Google Analytics for advertising, and we don’t share analytics data with advertisers. Google’s use of this data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can also block analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
WheelQuirk does not currently show advertising. If we start, we expect to use Google AdSense. We will update this policy before ads go live, and visitors in regions that require it will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Children
WheelQuirk is a general-audience website that teachers and families can use. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and the tools work without anyone providing personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, objection and, in some US states, opting out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Because WheelQuirk has no accounts and keeps wheel data in your own browser, you can exercise most of these rights yourself by clearing your browser data. For anything else, including questions about server logs, contact us at contact@wheelquirk.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Data transfers and security
Our website is hosted by a third-party provider, and Google services we use may process data in the United States and other countries. The site is served over HTTPS so that information passing between your browser and our servers is encrypted.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, for example before turning on analytics or advertising, and change the “Last updated” date above.
