“Remove from wheel” deletes this entry from your list so it can’t come up again. Undo brings it back.

How the yes or no wheel works

The wheel starts with two equal halves, Yes and No. When you spin, one half is chosen at random using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, and the wheel lands on it. Each answer has exactly a 1 in 2 chance, and the wheel doesn’t remember earlier spins, so three Yes answers in a row are just as likely as any other run.

Type your question into the title box if you like. It appears above the wheel, which helps when you’re spinning for a group or sharing the wheel with a link.

Change the answers or the odds

Edit the Answers list to say whatever suits the question. Each line is one equal segment, so the number of times an answer appears sets its chance:

  • Yes, No, Maybe gives each a 1 in 3 chance.
  • Yes, Yes, Yes, No makes Yes three times as likely (a 75% chance).
  • Definitely, Probably, Maybe, Probably not, No way turns it into a five-step decision scale.

The samples under the list set these up in one click, and Undo puts your previous list back.

Good uses for a yes or no spinner

Breaking a tie
Two options both seem fine and the debate is going nowhere. Let the wheel settle it.
Party games
Use it for dares, forfeits or “would you” questions where the answer should be a surprise.
Small daily choices
Dessert tonight? Take the long way home? Low-stakes questions are where a spin works best.
Kids’ activities
Younger children enjoy the suspense, and the result arrives without anyone having to say no.

Use the result to check your gut feeling

A wheel can’t know what’s right for you, and important decisions deserve real thought. But a spin can still help. Notice how you feel the moment the answer appears: if you’re relieved, you probably wanted that answer; if you’re disappointed, you’ve learned what you actually prefer. Either way, you’re free to ignore the wheel.

Questions and answers

Is the yes or no wheel really 50/50?

Yes. With the default two answers, each half has an equal chance on every spin, picked by your browser’s cryptographic random number generator.

Can I add “Maybe” or other answers?

Yes. Add a new line in the Answers box, or press the Add Maybe sample. You can rename the answers to anything you like.

How do I make Yes more likely?

Add more Yes lines. Each line is one equal segment, so three Yes lines and one No line gives Yes a 75% chance.

Should I use the wheel for serious decisions?

No. The wheel is for fun and for low-stakes choices. For anything that affects your health, money, safety or other people, make the decision yourself and get advice where it helps.

Is my question saved anywhere?

Only in your own browser, so the wheel looks the same next time you visit. It isn’t sent to WheelQuirk.
